Koltor Lake Horse Riding Day Trip

Koltor lake is one of Kyrgyzstan’s stunning lakes that features a pristine turquoise color that sparkles in bright sunlight. It’s surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna where a variety of forest berries and medicinal herbs grow in abundance during the warmer seasons. The lake is located in the beautiful Kegeti gorge at an altitude of 2,752m above sea level.

Day trip Itinerary

Depart from Bishkek at 8am to Koltor Lake in Kegeti Gorge.

Horse ride for 4-5 hours.

Arrive back at Bishkek by 5pm.

It costs 3,500 som per person (in a group of 3-4 people).

The cost includes transport there and back, a horse guide, horse rental and helmets.

6-day Horse Riding from Talas to Sary Chelek National Park

Have an adventure of a lifetime in a week long horse riding from a rural village in Talas region, the least tourism developed area via the mountain passes to Sary Chelek National Park. It is one of the parks with the hardest accessibility for travellers.

Are you up to the challenge?

The highest point in the tour is 3600 m, the lowest point is at 1200m.  Around 6 -8 hours of horse riding every day in the tour with breaks for lunch and enjoying pristine nature.

Level of difficulty: Medium.
Prior experience in horseriding for this tour is recommended. 

The itinerary for the tour is:

Day 1: Arrive to Talas. Dinner & overnight in a homestay. 

Day 2: Transfer to the Start from Besh Kol valley and reach Chiim Tash valley. Camping. 

Day 3: Chiim Tash to Kara Kulja valley.  Camping.

Day 4: Kara Kulja to Korumdu valley. Camping 

Day 5: Korumdu Valley to Kashka Suu valley.  Camping 

Day 6: Kashka suu to Iirii Kol lake. Camping 

Day 7: Iiri kol lake to Arkyt village. Dinner & overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 8: Departure, going back to Bishkek.

Requirements: trekking boots/gaiters, weatherproof warm clothes, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, rain coat and warm clothes – it gets really cold at night!

Best season: Mid-June – Mid-August  


  • 4 people: 42,000 som per person
