Koltor Lake On Horseback

Koltor is one of the most wonderful lakes of the northern Tien Shan, and it is a great place to explore on a horseriding tour. The lake is located in the Kegeti gorge of the Kungei Ala-Too Range at an altitude of 2725 meters above sea level.

Koltor lake is famous for its unusually beautiful turquoise color. The process of glacial melting washes away the soil and grinds stones and rocks into dust, thereby causing the lake to sparkle with a green-blue color in the bright sunlight.

The day will start with a private transfer from Apple Hostel to Koltor. You’ll then jump to horseback with the help of our local guide.

You’ll spend the day strolling up to the lake where you’ll stop for lunch. The afternoon will be spent riding back down the gorge before departing back to Bishkek in time for dinner.
